The 2007 Buick Open odds missed the world’s top golfer, Tiger Woods, who took the week off to be with his wife and new daughter. With Woods out of the game, Jim Furyk was the big favourite to win. He won the event in 2003 and has twice been runner up. He was listed at 4-1 at SBG Global, and while that was not quite the 2-1 that would have been the case for Woods, it was close. However, Furyk failed to take the title, and Brian Bateman won the tournament. This was Bateman’s first PGA Tour victory, ending with a birdie on the last hole and breaking a four-way tie.
Jason Gore (67), Justin Leonard (67) and Woody Austin (69) finished tied for second. Jim Furyk (70) and Scott Verplank (71) were in a group of five that were two shots behind Bateman.
The final leaderboard at the Buick Open had never before been so crowded at the top. The first 15 players were all within three shots of each other.
Bateman’s winning score was the highest since Singh (15 under) won his first of three Buick Opens in 1997.
2008 Buick Open odds are still coming in, with many players still to confirm. Needless to say, you can expect the birdies to be fast and furious! Watch this site for the latest information.
